Throughout the year, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund holds many events to raise money for breast cancer research. All event proceeds stay in Central New York.

 

 

Hoops for the Cure - April 21, 2012

 

This event was organized by Stacy Huntington, a breast cancer survivor. It is held once a year and hosted by Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. It consists of a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and clinic.

 

A Night to Remember Annual Gala - May 12, 2012


This event is held by the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund to recognize sponsors, researchers, volunteers and other supporters. It is also a special night for women who have suffered from breast cancer to celebrate their survival with friends and family as well as a chance to remember those that were taken by this disease. The event is sponsored by the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

 

 

New York State Fair - August 23, 2012 through September 3, 2012

 

Each year during the 12 days of the New York State Fair, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund has a booth in the Empire Building. The booth is easy to locate underneath the 30 foot breast cancer ribbon hanging from the ceiling. Volunteers staff the booth from 9 am until 10 pm each day, selling breast cancer ribbons, t-shirts and other merchandise. Carol spends several hours at the booth each day, talking to individuals suffering from breast cancer, survivors, and families of women that lost their struggle.

 

Ride for Research - September 9, 2012

 

A light-hearted fund raising event, the Ride for Research offers a chance for Central New York motorcycle enthusiasts to show their support for breast cancer research. A highlight of this event is seeing Carol in her pink motorcycle helmet. This year's event will start and end at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, 246 West Willow Street, Syracuse.

 

 

Carol M. Baldwin Golf Tournament - September 16, 2012

 

The Carol M. Baldwin golf tournament is held at the Turning Stone Casino golf courses and it is one of the biggest and most prominent tournaments in the area. This all day event brings corporate sponsors from all over Central New York together with survivors and other supporters. The tournament is followed by a dinner at The Turning Stone.

 

 

Paddle for the Cure Kayaking Event - September 22, 2012

 

Each year, the Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company in Old Forge, New York sponsors a paddle to raise funds for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. The paddle is approximately two miles long. It travels down the slow-moving flat water of the Moose River, winding through the beautiful Adirondack mountains. It is a great trip whether you are a first time paddler, or have years of experience.

 

 

A Run for Their Life - October 14, 2012

 

A Run For Their Life event will be held on October 14, 2012 and will begin and end at Syracuse University's Manley Field House / Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center. The event includes a 15K or 5K run and a 5K walk.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

State Troopers
