Gillie Girls Triathlon - July 21, 2013
In 2012, the Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon was one of only three triathlons in New York State with only women competing. Located at Gillie Lake in Veteran¡¯s Memorial Park in Camillus, NY, this scenic location became an instant hit for those training and racing in this three sport triathlon event (swim, bike, run). The course is a non-intimidating double loop swim (2 - 1/4 mile loops), a relatively flat and scenic 14 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run, finishing with a lap around Gillie Lake. The course was hailed by many as their ¡®all-time favorite¡¯ course and the ¡®perfect course¡¯ for a beginner. Those spectating the event were equally pleased with their ability to watch family and friends participate. In addition to the race, the Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon featured a post-race party with food and music and entertainment was provided throughout the day for kids.
